Kyndal's Surgery 05.18.11
Our sweet, little Kyndal (well...most of the time) had 3 surgeries on Wednesday. She had tubes put in her ears, her adenoids taken out, & her tear ducts probed out. All surgeries were a success. The ENT said her adenoids were so large that they were completely blocking the back of her nose. Also, she had "glue ear" which is where the fluid behind the ear drum thickens to a glue-like substance making it extremely difficult for the ear drum to vibrate. We believe (and are hoping) this is what was causing her hearing & speech difficulties.
Reading Daddy a book before she goes into surgery. This is right after the "loopy" medicine. She was giggly & her eyes were glazed over. That's some good stuff, she didn't even cry when they took her back.
If pictures speak a thousand words, this one would repeat, "Mommy, I don't feel good."
When she came out of surgery, she was "spit-fire" mad. She was kicking & screaming. She even spit medicine at the nurse trying to give her pain meds. After quite a bit of fighting, she managed to infiltrate her IV causing her a lot of pain. The nurse took it out & she calmed right down. She just hated that thing. She slept pretty much the rest of the day.
Thanks to all for the prayers & good wishes. We felt every single one.
